Greetings! My name is Rob McKinney. I have worked in the construction industry since 2001 across various roles, including safety director, technology consultant, and business development manager.

I worked my way up from a site Safety Coordinator to Safety Director in the construction industry. I have participated in safety-focused groups, including ASSE, ABC, AGC, CFMA, MCAA, and other Construction Trade Associations.

I have been experimenting and developing technology programs for construction teams since 2012. These programs are centered on tablet- and smartphone-based applications.  The purpose of these programs is to research and implement new apps and devices to improve workflows. The end goal of the projects is to save field staff time and money by streamlining processes and creating a more collaborative work environment. 

My love for technology led me to create my first blog, dedicated to writing about my experiments with emerging technologies for the construction industry. As the ConAppGuru, I have delivered presentations at national, regional, and local construction conferences since 2013. I was a founding member of the ConTechCrew podcast and ConTechRoadshow.

I am focused on educational efforts in the construction industry on the benefits of using technology to improve safety workflows and mental health.  I am currently focused on coaching construction professionals about the benefits of AI for improving safety workflows.
